Specific Notes for 6g Camaro:
- < li >The 6g Camaro platform can be confusing with fitment on SS vs ZL1 – Please be sure to confirm Convertible or Coupe and make sure you are getting the appropriate setup!
< li >The 6g Camaro ZL1 axles reuse the factory inner differential stub shafts. We use a billet adapter that bolts to the factory inner stub shaft flange, and this adapter allows us to bolt our CV up directly. We still use our billet outer stub shaft to fit up to the factory 33 spline wheel hub.
< li >Our average 6g ZL1 customer is around 750-800hp, with some over 1000hp. Important to note that any axle can fail at a lower power level due to wheel hop or misuse. The listed numbers should not be an expectation, but an idea for capability.
< li >All 6g Camaro platforms have a less than ideal axle angle from the factory. While our CV’s are considered a wear item, it is worth noting that CV assemblies and boots will see accelerated wear or possibly binding and clearance issues with lowered cars, so we strongly suggest to avoid lowering these cars.
< li >The factory inner stub shafts have proven to survive on customer cars up to and over 1000hp, but again, that can be subjective to driving style and abuse. If you plan to run competitively or at a considerably higher power level that you might consider an upgrade such as our 9″ conversion.
